Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I park & get on the Tiki Boat?
All tours start and end at Morningstar (Rivertowne) Marina: 4601 Kellogg Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45226. Make sure you don't go to Four Seasons Marina next door. Follow the signs for customer parking, which will be in the gravel lot to the right when you pull in. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early. Tours leave at the exact time of the tour start time you signed up for. Any persons on a mixer tour that don't show up on time are subject to being left behind without a refund. In certain circumstances, they can meet at our halfway point at Riverside Marina Bar and Grill and join for the remainder of the tour.
When should my group arrive?
We recommend showing up at least 20 minutes before departure with your digital waivers completed. If arriving early or staying late after, make sure to check out the Rivertowne Party Pavilion.
Why is there a weight limit?
Your safety is our top priority and our captains took an oath to operate with your safety in mind. To ensure a secure and enjoyable experience, we kindly ask you to adhere to the weight limit set by Coast Guard regulations. Our 14-passenger boat has a maximum passenger count of 14 OR weight capacity of 2,960 lbs Our 16-passenger boat has a maximum passenger count of 16 OR weight capacity of 3,330 lbs The total is set by The United States Coast Guard. This is based on the combined weight of the group, not any individual guest. If your group may be close to this total, please reach out before your tour so we can help plan accordingly and avoid any issues at boarding. If the captain determines that the vessel may exceed its permitted weight or cannot be operated safely, the Captain may require certain passengers, coolers, or other belongings to remain ashore.
Do we have to sign a waiver?
Yes, everyone riding is required to fill out a waiver before getting on board. Please note that the boat will not leave the dock until everyone riding has signed a waiver and been checked in. We recommend making sure your group does this before you arrive to avoid launching late. The waiver is sent to the group leader and can be forwarded via a link.
What's your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans can change, and we strive to be as flexible as possible. Please review our cancellation policy below: If you cancel outside of 2 weeks, you are eligible for a full refund. If you cancel within two weeks, we are not able to offer refunds unless you add Peek Protect during checkout, but we can offer a non-expiring credit of the same value to use on a future tour. Cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled tour are not eligible for a store credit or refund. Changes to your tour date or time can be made up to 72 hours in advance of your scheduled booking, subject to availability. In the event of severe weather that impacts the safety of the tour, the captain will make the call as soon as he knows and we will issue a non-expiring store credit for rescheduling. Thank you for understanding and supporting our small business!
How many passengers can we bring?
Boat 1 — 16 passengers per trip — Max weight 2,800 lbs (average 175 lb per person) Boat 2 — 14 passengers per trip — Max weight 2,450 lbs (average 175 lb per person) For mixer tours, there is an 8-passenger minimum before the booking is confirmed. There is no minimum for private tours.
How long is the tiki cruise?
Our tours are 2 hours long and include a stop at Riverside Marina Bar and Grill for a bathroom break and to grab food or more drinks.
What if we want to stay out longer?
This is on an as-available, case-by-case basis. If the schedule, captain, and weather allow, you can discuss extending the trip while underway, and they can charge the card on file.
Are children allowed on the Tiki Pub?
Yes. Children are allowed on private tours. Please note we only have 2 child-sized life jackets, so we can only have a total of 2 minors on board. Anyone under age 13 must remain in a lifejacket while underway. Mixer tours are 21+ only.
Are pets allowed?
Dogs are only allowed on private tours, but space may be tighter on the boat.
Can I eat on the tiki boat?
Yes. You can bring your own food on board or grab some at Riverside.
Is there a bathroom on board?
No. We make a stop at Riverside Marina Bar and Grill midway through the tour. We recommend using the bathroom before you get on the boat and before getting back on after the stop.
Can we swim during the tour?
No. Swimming is prohibited during the tour. If you jump off the boat during the tour, the tour will cancel immediately and no refund will be given. A $500 fine will also be assessed to the credit card of the person who booked. This is a serious matter.
Can I drink on the Tiki Pub / is it BYOB?
Yes. We provide the cooler but not the ice or cups, so make sure to grab some at the marina store beforehand. Ohio BYOB rules allow 1 bottle of liquor per group, plus beer, wine, seltzer, etc. — but no glass.
Is there a place to pick up drinks on site beforehand?
We love having the Rivertowne Marina's Party Pavilion steps from the Tiki Boat! Concession hours: Monday & Tuesday closed / Wednesday & Thursday 11 am – 7 pm / Friday – Sunday 11 am – 8 pm Stop by for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, bags of ice for the cooler, and a wide variety of snacks. Cornhole, food trucks, and live music on the weekends!
What is the parking situation like?
All Tiki Boat guests will park in the gravel lot. Just follow the signs.
Is there a dress code? What should I wear?
We recommend dressing for the weather. Beachwear and comfortable clothing — bathing suits, tank tops — always add to the experience. We do recommend wearing closed-toed shoes for safety.
Can I play my own music? Are there speakers?
Yes. The sound system is Bluetooth, so guests can play their own playlists.
Do you sell merch?
Yes — you can prepay for merch through our booking system as you make your reservation. You can also make purchases on the boat, but merch on board will be limited due to the lack of storage.
Who drives the Tiki Pub?
A USCG-licensed captain will captain the boat, along with a trained deckhand.
Can I smoke on board?
Cigarettes are not allowed. Electronic smoking devices are allowed on private tours only. If it needs a lighter, it is not allowed. There is absolutely no smoking of marijuana while at any of the marinas or while on the boat. Failure to comply will result in a $500 fine to the credit card used to purchase the tour and will immediately end the tour.
What if it rains?
We go out rain or shine! The Tiki Boats have a large canopy that does a good job keeping everyone dry. If the captain determines the weather is not safe, you can reschedule for a future date. No refunds will be given due to weather conditions unless you purchase Peek Protect at checkout.
